Spring MIST 2027

Spring MIST 2027 at Edinburgh

In 2027, Spring MIST will be held in Edinburgh, at the Playfair Library, Old College, University of Edinburgh, and will be hosted by the British Geological Survey and the University of Edinburgh. Spring MIST is a meeting for all members of the Magnetosphere, Ionosphere and Solar-Terrestrial scientific community.

The event will be held Wednesday 7^th 12.00 to Friday 9^th April 2027 13.00. Registration and abstract submission details will be announced here in due course. A list of recommended places to eat and drink can be found here.

A PhD student only day will also run on Tuesday 6^th April, ahead of the main conference, hosted at Kings Buildings, University of Edinburgh. See the PhD Student Day page for details.

Accommodation

Accommodation should be booked separately to registration. Discounted rates are available for conference attendees courtesy of the University of Edinburgh at select hotels.

Venue

The conference will be held in the Playfair Library, a neoclassical hall within Old College at the University of Edinburgh.

Designed by William Henry Playfair and completed in the 19th century, it was originally built as a reading room for academic use and is now used for events and gatherings.

PhD Student Day

Ahead of Spring MIST 2027, this year we are hosting a PhD student only day on Tuesday 6^th April 2027, at Kings Buildings, University of Edinburgh.

The day is intended as an informal, PhD-focused warm-up to Spring MIST. Full programme details, timings and sign-up information will be posted on the dedicated page below as they are confirmed.
